After being barred from playing in Canada, The Toronto Blue Jays found a temporary home in Dunedin, Florida. TD Park, the Spring Training home of the Blue Jays, has a normal, already cozy capacity of 8,500, but the crowds were limited to a intimate 1,500 per game.

Like other stadiums, administrators used fan cutouts to help fill in the seats of the tiny stadium. Fans submitted photos of themselves, their dogs, their children. Anything to feel like they had a presence at the far-away stadium.

I got to wander around one of their final games in Dunedin (against the other home team, the Tampa Bay Rays) for The New York Times. I realized I really missed photographing baseball after missing two years of spring training due to Global Pandemic, plus the stadium is really beautiful. So enjoy the visual feast and put on this video in the background for the full hot dog water, popcorn smell, patriotic butt rock guitar ambiance.
